Healing Rain

Life, like the weather, can be unpredictable.

One minute the sky is clear and blue; the next, a storm has you running for cover. Sickness, loss, heartbreak… they can quickly turn life’s blue skies to gray. But God is there with us in the rain as well as the sunshine. In fact, it’s often during those overcast days that we see our heavenly Father most clearly.  Along the way, we also tend to learn a little something about ourselves and just what we’re made of. While we might find ourselves regularly wishing for sunshine, if we put our trust in Him, we’ll be ready for whatever the day brings.

I’ve been reading this little book (a page or two a day) by Michael W. Smith called “Healing Rain”. its such a little bitty simple book but its packed  with awesome stuff!! i LOVE rain! actually its raining today! so i really love the concept of HEALING rain! there is a lot of hurt and sadness in the world right now and many people aren’t reaching out for some healing rain. but some are, and God has healed and blessed them tremendously! ive never actually seen someone healed right before my eyes of a physical condition but ive read about tons in the Bible and i know that God still does miracles, today! i hope you know that too! and i hope you not only believe in miracles, but EXPECT them!! so anyways, ive been thinking a lot about healing this week and about people who God has healed and people who im asking Him to heal.

the first one that comes to my mind is Kim Quile’s mom. i was actually supposed to be staying at Kim’s house tomorrow night in Dallas, but her mom is in the hospital in Houston. Kim is right there by her side! what a devoted daughter!! and what a devoted daughter to her Father she is!! wooooheee that lady is ON FIRE! love her to death! but yes, please please please pray for healing for her sweet mother! i dont know all the details but i do know God is active and alive inside that lady and amazing things will come out of this! in constant prayer for that family!!!

another sweetie that comes to mind is Tatum Flaming. if you dont know her or know about her, you need to!! she is the sweetest face you’ll ever see! and her sweet mama is AMAZING!! you can read Tatum’s care pages here that her mom, Mandy updates very frequently. she was diagnosed with leukemia right after she turned 3, in 2009. but with her strong heart and stronger God, she has been improving and staying oh-so-strong! that girl is my hero! she and her mama both! i pray “healing rain” over Tatum and “healing rain” over any downheartedness, fear, or unbelief in that family. but it seems like when the going gets tough, that family gets tougher and there’s really not much fear or negativity to go around! but continue to pray with me, as i lift them up in prayer, daily.

those are just the first 2 that came to mind, tonight. there are so many others. so many i will never even know about. but God knows and He can be a million places at once, healing a million people at once. we can’t even imagine.

so pray with me, pray that this rain that i hear plopping in puddles outside my window, is healing rain. i believe it.

Healing rain is coming down
It’s coming nearer to this old town
Rich and poor, weak and strong
It’s bringing mercy, it won’t be long

Healing rain is coming down
It’s coming closer to the lost and found
Tears of joy, and tears of shame
Are washed forever in Jesus’ name

Healing rain, it comes with fire
So let it fall and take us higher
Healing rain, I’m not afraid
To be washed in Heaven’s rain

Lift your heads, let us return
To the mercy seat where time began
And in your eyes, I see the pain
Come soak this dry heart with healing rain

And only You, the Son of man
Can take a leper and let him stand
So lift your hands, they can be held
By someone greater, the great I Am

Healing rain, it comes with fire
So let it fall and take us higher
Healing rain, I’m not afraid
To be washed in Heaven’s rain

To be washed in Heaven’s rain…

Healing rain is falling down
Healing rain is falling down
I’m not afraid
I’m not afraid…

  1. carlee, dear–a great one!!! We saw that courage that can only be generated by complete trust in your mother. She was never afraid and knew that God had all things in His hands, including her two beautiful daughters. As you two grow in the Lord, I see her legacy in you. She is loving you and what you are doing on your site right now. Healing Rain is a good one.
    you bless me.
